Founder of "Viennese Actionism" with Günter Brus, Otto Muehl and Rudolf Schwarzkogler. Actions in Europe and the US. From 1967 in Munich, conceives the "Orgien Mysterien Theater". From 1989 lectures at the Städelschule in Frankfurt/Main. In 1971 he acquired Prinzendorf Castle in Lower Austria, the venue for his actions, the central idea of which is the parallel to the Passion of Christ and the reception of the ancient myth of Dionysus.
